Transit visa C1 to the USA for Ukrainians

There are countries through which you can fly just like that, without issuing any additional documents. The USA is not one of them – instead, special areas have been built in airports where people waiting to transfer to another flight can rest. To some, such a system seems strange, but you will have to put up with it: you will not go outside the airport, you will just wait for your flight, but a visa must be required.

How to get a transit visa to the USA?

To begin with, you need to decide what type of visa you need. C1 or related type? How to choose?

If you are going in transit and will not go out into the city for a walk, then apply for a C1 visa. If you want to combine the pleasant with the useful, and at the same time see the city, visit friends, etc., then it is better to issue a B2 visa.

The set of documents is slightly different depending on the type of visa, but the procedure itself and the difficulty of obtaining it are equivalent.</ p>

When applying for a transit visa (type C1), passengers must demonstrate:

• The purpose of your stay in the USA is exclusively transit, i.e. transfer from one plane to another.
• air ticket
• Availability of funds sufficient for transit travel.
• Document confirming permission to enter the country of transit. For example, a visa, if it is necessary for entry.
• When applying for a US transit visa, you must provide the following documents:
• Electronic statement form DS-160. A separate application is submitted for the child, even if he is entered in the passport of one of the parents.
•  Foreign passport valid for at least 6 months longer than the intended period of stay in the USA.
• 1 photo measuring 5 x 5 cm.
• A letter with an invitation to an interview, which confirms that you have made an appointment for an interview.
• For the interview at the US consulate, you can take any documents that you believe confirm the information provided to the consular officer (account statements, certificates of / n, trip route, etc.).

The requirements for a transit visa are practically the same as for a regular one, so it is advisable to apply for a category B2 visa right away. As a rule, they are long and repeated. Even if you’re not planning a trip to the states anytime soon, you can put it off until later. The cost of a C1 or B2 visa is the same.
